Good nostalgia fix. Not the place to impress someone, but if you grew up around here, they hit the spot. I usually go to the one on US-19, but they don't have a listing on here for it. FYI, at the Lee County location they don't clean the sweet tea cooler often enough, so it tastes like it has dirty socks in the water, go with a Dr.Pepper.
"Jimmie dawg has been a favorite of mine since 1994" My wife thought I was stepping out on her but busted me on one of my Jimmie Dog runs.... My record is 14 in one day... that bun was wow
Not a fancy establishment but you know that going in. You go in, place your order, pay, and a few minutes later you are handed your completed order to go. Mom often got dinner here for us on weekends when we were coming back from the cousins' house in Thomasville. I never miss an opportunity to drop in when I'm in Albany. There is no indoor seating and the staff has always been friendly on our visits.
Best dog in and around Albany, GA hands-down! This business started downtown Albany and now has a restaurant on the left side of road off of US19 headed North. Been eating these dogs since 2003. If you're looking for a great dog, great chili, great sides; give Jimmie's a try. I highly recommend it!
Okay, this is a hole in the wall but supposedly they have the best hot dogs in Albany. They have lots of options but I was in the mood for cheese. I had to get two because the hot dogs were kinda small. Good service.
I read a lot of good things about Jimmies. Made a slight detour through Albany to stop here and see the firehouse from the movie Fireproof. Small takeout place, no tables inside. We sat outside. Ordered a mix of all the way dogs (chili, mustard and finely chopped onions), and slaw dogs on split top griddled buns. The frank by itself was bland however all tasted very good together. $1.75 each Nice stop if you're in Albany.
